DoubleX tried the hCG diet, and their writer has the dirt on what it’s really like to take injections that make your body capable of running on 500 calories a day, including: “I didn’t end up chewing on my divan.” Sold!
But actually, writer Rachael Larimore‘s post is interesting, because we’ve all seen the ads for weight loss with hCG that promise you’ll burn off inches of body fat. BUT this one uses a magical series of injections to get you there. Which is why you know about ten times as many people who’ve tried Atkins. So without studies or friends to promise results (and safety), we all remain somewhat sketched out and repelled by the whole thing.
But it turns out that, aside from her surprise at how un-hungry she was while subsisting on 500 calories’ worth of vegetables per day, Larimore also lost 18 pounds and inches from her arms, legs, waist and even neck. And despite studies that show it’s hard or impossible for dieters to keep the weight off, she says that she’s been able to maintain her skinnier bod through a diet of lean protein and vegetables.
And all that even came with an unexpected perk:
Happily, the changes haven’t just been physical. When I started the diet, I wanted my old body back. I didn’t want to buy mom jeans. But a funny thing happened as I lost weight: I realized how much mental energy I had been wasting. I would constantly compare my overweight self to women at the gym, at the mall, at the park. It was a kind of narcissistic masochism: “My butt’s not that big, is it?” “Wow, her arms are skinny.” Once I had regained my self-confidence, this self-destructive behavior disappeared. It might have been at a moment of emotional weakness that I decided to do something mildly crazy to lose weight. But I’ve never felt so sane.
Well then. An obvious argument that comes to mind is: Perhaps working on your body image and just using a simple combination of diet and exercise to get back to your healthy weight would be a safer approach to taking back your mental energy. But then again, if it makes you happy…
What do you think? Still sketched out by the diet, or are you ready to go

Diet Doc HCG Weight Loss is the only modern day hcg diet that does not utilize 500 calories per day. A few years ago, our doctors found that 500 calories per day was in essence a starvation diet. We were seeing many people who were extremely hungry, with hair falling out and who were extremely fatigued. The Diet Doc physicians reinvented the old 1950’s Simeons protocol to one that utilizes approximately 800 to 1200 calories per day without feeling hungry.
We are weight loss experts. We specialize with helping people who have failed on other weight loss protocols. We know how to personalize the diet for each person so that individual realizes up to one pound of weight loss per day.
