A recent study shows that when you are presented with a few healthy options at the drive-thru or vending machine, just seeing those choices could satisfy your desire to be healthy, and therefore make you more likely to indulge in something less nutritious. Great. So even just considering a salad is enough to make our brain choose the burger.
How do we get around this? It’s hard enough to try and resist the onion ring platter without our minds playing tricks on. But now that we think about it, we can remember instances where we’re thinking about getting the salad, but at the last minute order a nice, greasy plate of chicken fingers. Any one have any ideas on how to resist the unhealthy restaurant trap?
