Between the photo shoots and the red carpet blitzkrieg, it’s hard to find a celebrity who isn’t actually afraid of carbs. To make sure they’re up to Tinseltown standards, some rush to extreme diets, fasts or detox plans to get the job done. While this may get our favorit celebs leading-lady ready, a few A-listers have bravely gone on the record to express regret over messing with their food regimens.

A shining example: Model-turned-actress Brooklyn Decker recently admitted she was so obsessed with her weight at the beginning of her modeling career, her family had to do an intervention to stop her from ruining her health.
“When I moved to New York, I was always with other aspiring models,” Decker told Self. “There were bingers and purgers, and everyone watched each other eat. It freaked me out. I did juice fasts and crazy diets and ended up gaining weight. My father did an intervention and got me to stop obsessing about everyone else and wrecking my body.”

Angie, world-renowned for her slim physique (which sure makes us wish we had a French model for a mom) has often taken fire for her barely-there body. While the “Tourist” actress told reporters she loves red meat, she’s also revealed that she used to be a devout vegan. However, living that lifestyle became too much and “nearly killed” Jolie. Why? “I found I was not getting enough nutrition,” she has said.
