Say hello to the Flavour Shaker – wohoo I can use Canadian spelling and still be right! Yep, this is a UK product. Likely available all over, but my link source is from Amazon UK and the Jamie Oliver range of products.
Now back to the product. The Flavour Shaker is your no fuss alternative to a mortar and pestle – which can be messy and tiring. The FS can crush, grind, mix, puree, blend and whatever to get all that great flavour from spices as hard as cinnamon sticks and as delicate as fresh herbs.
It’s smaller than most conventional mini processors and choppers, and likely treats your ingredients with more care (although I cannot vouch for this). I am still a fan of the mortar and pestle, because it’s pretty and does allow you to capture all the oils too. But, this is a great alternative that still looks nice.
