Garlic Genius

The Garlic Genius from Williams Sonoma simplifies garlic chopping. This is once again not a garlic press, but rather a garlic chopper.

Simply place peeled garlic inside and twist.

I took part in a BBC documentry The Truth About Food during which time I had to eat 4 cloves of garlic raw for 13 weeks. As a person who never had garlic before believe me it took some doing but I did it and now love the stuff. During this time I had a Stainless Steel Genius which lasted me about 18 months before the central screw device gave in I recently managed to get a plastic one off QVC it lasted about 5 months before it broke. I’m now trying to find a supplier of the Garlic-It, Garlic Twist and Garlic Pro Dicer any ideas ?

I wondered about that…I’m always leery of plastic parts. Interesting that it was more durable than the ss version though. Thanks for the input, John.

this is a great idea, and works very well. The problem is durability. I had the original white plastic version. It’s clutch wore out after a couple of years. Now the newer stainless steel covered version has worn out after about 3 months. Get the durability up and it would be a perfect tool.

I found some listed on Amazon, so I’d suggest that you try the UK’s Amazon site.

I purchased a genius garlic crusher at the London Ideal Home Exhibition several years ago – it was an excellent piece of equipment as far as I was concerned.
I now need to purchase another one –
    1. Are these items still being manufactured
    2. Do you have a U.K. Outlet
    3. If no to 2 above can you provide me with and address and cost where these can be purchased

A reply would be gratefully appreciated

    Thank You

Yeah, looks like it would be pretty messy.

The darn thing took me 15 minutes to take apart for cleaning then afterwards I had to hire a watch repairman to re-assemble it. Other than that there is nothing wrong with it especially if you’re skillful in peeling garlic with your fingers.

Sorry, I am not sure. I’m not the manufacturer.

I have a Genius garlic chopper and I cannot get the top off – it is starting to crack but I just can’t open it, what would you suggest? I got it from Ideal Home Exhibition
