Pie Carrier

A Pie Carrier is a great idea! And everyday objects can become just what you need. A bamboo steamer is the perfect pie size – and makes an inexpensive hostess for a dinner party.

Works great with less-than-perfect looking cobblers and apple crisp too :-)

Wow, the Pennsylvanian tradition actually sounds like a great way to eat leftover pie. I will have to try it. Thanks.

LOL! Well, if your pie gets messed up on the journey, and no one else wants to eat it, I guess I could volunteer… :-)

Actually, one of our central Pennsylvanian traditions it to put our pie in a bowl, pour milk over it, and sort of chop it up anyway.

Yes, two days from now is Thanksgiving and I am going to have to take another apple pie over the hills and through the woods to somebody else’s grandma’s house. I am going to have to transport this pie with my bamboo steamer since I do not have time to get a proper pie carrier. Since I can’t use a lid, it will be a journey fraught with peril. I just hope I won’t run into the big bad wolf or my pie will be toast. Wish me luck.

You’re right! My pumpkin pies would fit fine, but my double crust fruit pies would be a different story. Thanks for the tip :-)

Bamboo steamers are a great idea for pie carriers, however, due to their shallow nature, if you are trying to carry around grandma’s mile high apple pie, you are out of luck. You could use the steamer without the lid in this case but if you want the pie covered, you need to look elsewhere.
