Snacking for Weight Loss: 10 Foods Your Diet Won’t Hate

Giving up snacking is an ever-popular weight loss technique, but it’s also a surefire way to get cranky between meals. Not to mention hungry. Very, very hungry. Snacking helps reign in your hunger and manage portion size at mealtimes. Check out this list of good snacks that will help you lose weight and keep it off, courtesy of Women’s Health.

1. Kashi Chewy Granola Bars: Low on calories, high on fiber and protein. And tasty, too.

2. Frozen peas and corn: This interesting snack will fill you up and offer a whole new snacking experience. For intrepid eaters only.

3. Greek yogurt: How a fat-free yogurt can be so rich and creamy, we do not know. Dairy calcium helps you lose weight, and you can get some protein and fiber while you’re at it.

4. An apple: Sometimes it’s best to go back to basics. Or you can do an “apple remix” snack by mixing a chopped apple with walnuts and maple sugar.

5. Quaker Express Oatmeal: This healthy snack will really keep your stomach from rumbling, even more than dry cereal.

6. Soy chips: Chips! Soy chips are high in protein, and eating soy helps you lose weight.

7. Frozen juice bars: They usually have under 100 calories, and you’ll feel like you’re indulging.

8. Barbara’s Cinnamon Puffins: This cereal is delicious, and, more importantly, high in fiber. Or wait – maybe delicious is more important.

9. Licorice: We’re talking real licorice here, none of that Twizzler nonsense. Real licorice helps you lose weight by blocking a fat accumulating enzyme and reducing appetite.

10. Gum: We’re not encouraging you to eat gum, or to chew gum instead of eating. If you feel like snacking but you aren’t really hungry, chewing gum will satisfy that craving. You’ll also burn 11 extra calories an hour.
