Saw it on TV first, then had to run and see it again online…The Ove Glove. I’m a big fan of all things silicone, and of anything that prevents me from getting burned!
No More Dropped Pans ! No More Burns!
Ever wished you could use all five fingers when removing pans from the oven? Well, Now you can with the Ove Glove Hot Surface Handler. Made from Kevlar® & Nomex® by DuPont, the same material that fire fighter’s flame resistant clothing is made from the Ove Glove can withstand temperatures of up to 540 degrees. You can dramatically extend the time you can handle hot objects.

I’ve been badly burned by both my oven and by my grill, Peggy, and I really don’t ever want to have it happen again! One time it was because an inexpensive (but pretty!) potholder had come apart at a seam. I burned the webbing between my thumb and forefinger. Yikes.
I routinely singe myself on the grill because we do a certain amount of cooking with high flames. I am definitely looking forward to using one of these gloves this summer. If Dan wants to use a towel, that’s fine…not me!
Cyndi,
Let me take this opportunity to say Wal-mart is just crazy silly and stupid for selling cheap potholders! I don’t shop from there, but I have an aunt who, for some reason, gets me potholders from there at Christmas.
I tried to use one and it hurt! You can’t hold anything hot in them for more than 2 seconds. They should be illegal.
Ok, I said it. : )
To each their own
No respectable chef/cook would wear a glove that bulky. How are you supposed to cook wearing that? Or are you really going to take the time to put in on before approaching your oven? Seriously? I’ll keep using my towel thank you very much…
