Ok, I will stand behind this product and say it really is the best insulated travel mug out there. I have one, and have never looked back. I use it inside the house, when walking, and take it to cafes. I cannot live without it.
Nissan 14-Ounce Leak-Proof Insulated Travel Mug
The mug features a 2 3/4″ bottom, to fit most holders, is lightweight, and portable. It’s made of stainless steel and touch plastic, with rubber on the handle for comfort and on the body for non-slip grip.
The description says that it will keep beverages hot for at least one hour, but I have mine in there for a good 3 or 4 hours and it’s still warm right down to the last drop, and hot for a good 2 or more hours. It keeps hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold, always. The lid twists to open or close, so there are no messy openings to deal with. You can shake it all over the place and not worry about it leaking – I even stow it with my laptop, if you can believe that.
It’s on sale right now for $27, and is usually about $15 more than that. Comes with a 5-year warranty. Made by Nissan & Thermos brands.

[...] It’s a very geeky gadget. I still like mine better – once hot, it stays hot 5 hours. Plenty of time to drink any cup of coffee. [...]

Hot and cold stuff eh?
“David Beckham goes shopping, and sees something interesting in the kitchen department of a large department store. ‘What’s that?’ he asks. ‘An insulated travel mug,’ replies the assistant. ‘What does it do?’ asks Becks. The assistant tells him it keeps hot things hot and cold things cold. Really impressed, Beckham buys one and takes it along to his next training session. ‘Here, boys, look at this,’ Beckham says proudly. ‘It’s an insulated travel mug. The lads are impressed. ‘What does it do?’ they ask. ‘It keeps hot things hot and cold things cold, ’says David. ‘And what have you got in it?’ they ask. ‘Two cups of coffee and a Choc ice,’ replies David.”

My personal favorite travel mug of all time is the stainless Liquiseal from OXO/GoodGrips. The mechanism is a pus button that operates with one finger. My only gripe is the mug has no handle, just a sticky grip ring below the cap. I’ve had the mug fall out my car while parked on a hill and had to chase it down to get it back. It is available in stainless for $19.99 or plastic for $9.99 plus shipping. The company’s web site is at this link:
