Advocacy companies springing up to help patients get care

As a Canadian, I’m not sure what I think about this article: Booming business helps patients navigate medicine. I know our medical system is far from perfect, but the idea to have to resort to this type of help is really foreign to me.

According to the article, businesses that help patients find doctors and run interference for the patients when it comes to insurance and other non-health aspects of health care, are popping up all over the place. It seems that the medical system as become so distorted and difficult to navigate, that it was the perfect breeding ground for this new business.

If you have a moment, read the article and tell me what you think.
