Budget Weddings Idea: Emailing your wedding invitations

Hmm, I am not sure if emailing wedding invitations to save on postage costs is kosher but I suggest that you only do this if you are absolutely short of funds. This idea will definitely save you money!

I still think that personally delivering (if your guests live close by!) or mailing wedding invitations are the best and most socially accepted way of doing things but if you don’t care about wedding etiquette and going with the norm then go for it. Email your wedding invitations.

What about you? Will you consider emailing your wedding invitations instead of handing them out/mailing them?

I think it would all depend on the kind of wedding you were planning. If it is ultra casual, then it could be something that you could do, but, if you were going for a more traditional wedding, I would still go to the post office.

Also, remember that not everyone could have an email address or know what to do with an emailed invitation.

I would not consider emailing the wedding invitations, but I did email the bridal shower invitations. This was because my wedding was moved up a year and therefore we didn’t have very much time to mail formal invitations to the shower. It ended up working out well because everyone who was invited were able to RSVP via email as well and the whole process was sped up.
