(or as we write in Canada, a Labour Day meme).
I learned about it through Angela over at Breastfeeding 123 and I went over to Rocks in my Dryer, where Angela found out about it. So, here we go:
How long were your labors?
(keep in mind, my kids are no longer kids, so I grin every time I write the word “kid”)
Kid 1- 16 hours, which included 2.5 hours of pushing
Kid 2- 5 hours, which included about an hour of pushing
Kid 3- 2 hours, which included a couple of pushes
Needless to say, if I’d had a kid number 4, I’d have likely rented a room for a week before the due date.
How did you know you were in labor?
Kid 1- It HURT, dammit!
Kid 2- I wasn’t until the dr broke my membranes – out she popped 5 hours later
Kid 3- I wasn’t until I received, oh – about three drops of picotin, and he was born two hours later.
Where did you deliver?
Same hospital all three times.
Drugs?
Sort of.
Kid 1- Had an epidural – it worked fabulously for a couple of hours but as the going got tough, it stopped working.
Kid 2- Had epidural, no pain relief but boy, did I dilate fast.
Kid 3- See Kid 2
C-section?
No, but to this day, I believe that my oldest, who was over nine pounds, should have been. He was a mid-forceps delivery and that left me with fourth degree tears.
Who delivered?
Kid 1- the doctor on call for my doctor’s group
Kids 2 and 3 – my doctor
