Looking for a new mental health Web site and forum? Interested in finding out how your favorite four-legged buddy can help the mentally-disabled? This week’s Saturday Sanity has it all – and more!
- SarahLiz recently posted a very nice comment about Mental Health Notes at the beta WEGO Health, a Web site that aims to “make access to the best health and wellness information easy for everybody.” I was later contacted by another member of WEGO Health with information about the site, and am now apologizing to that person – it was a busy week and I’ve lost your email. If you’d like to contact me again, I promise to be more organized. Well, I promise to try, haha!
- The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) will host a Recovery Chat on Wednesday, January 30, 2007 at 2 p.m. Central Standard Time. The chat will focus on psychiatric service dogs and will be led by president and founder of the Psychiatric Service Dog Society Joan Esnarya, PhD. Sign up for the chat online.
- MentalHelp.net recently published Imprisoning the Mentally Ill, written by Allan Schwartz, LCSW, PhD, and it already has a couple of very interesting comments. Given number six of yesterday’s rant, it’s worth a look-see.
- Mental Health America Response to New England Journal of Medicine Study. Mental Health America admits that the study is “easily misinterpreted,” but hopes it won’t “discourage people with depression from seeking appropriate care and evidence-based treatments that work for them.”
- Bisexuality Not A Transitional Phase Among Women, According To New Research. I’m not going to comment too much on this one, as I’d like to revisit it in a few days.
Have something to share? Leave it in the comments!

Thank you!
That was me at WEGO! I will drop you an email with Adrienne’s & Marie’s contact information so you can be in touch with them again if you want!
