I don’t mind bringing my two children when I grocery shop, since they’re very good kids and I love the ‘teachable’ moments at the store. But I really hate having to sit them inside shopping carts. It’s not just the germs. My children have multiple allergies, and if certain products get spilled or stuck in the cart handle, they get hives just by touching them. It’s the same way with restaurant high chairs, boosters and table edges. I wipe the surfaces clean as much as possible, but it can be an inconvenience when I’m in a hurry.
So was I glad to receive a brand new Luxe Minky Clean Shopper® from Babe Ease! The Luxe Shopper comes in chocolate-pink swirl, chocolate-blue swirl, or coffee brown background with dark chocolate colored swirls. The Luxe retails for $64.99, but the Chic Line starts at $31.99. I got the coffee brown Luxe Shopper pattern, and it has my handsome little boy in it!
The Luxe Minky Clean Shopper has a luxuriously soft quilted fabric all over. It feels fur-like and nice to the skin, and my son loves to put his face on the fabric, as it’s a new texture for him. It comes in a matching drawstring pouch so I just leave it inside the van beside the reusable bags and it’s ready for use wherever we go. The Shopper is very easy to install on the grocery cart. It has a one-piece design so once I lay it out on the cart, I just plop my boy right in, then I secure him with the safety strap. It also has side pockets so his snack, and his sister’s go in each. I have yet to use it in the restaurants but I imagine it would be the same way as in a grocery cart. One added convenience: the minky fabric is warm and toasty, and perfect for this cooler season.
Best of all, it’s machine washable and dryer safe, although I airdried mine and it didn’t take long to dry completely. The only downside to having a Clean Shopper on the cart is I don’t get to put groceries on the top basket anymore! But if my baby is happy and free from germs and allergens, then I guess I don’t mind that at all.
