ever have to make a decision that
tore your heart apart?
i did yesterday when i said goodbye to
Maddie, our family cat who has always been
there for me in good and bad.
but she got too sick to carry on and had to be
laid to rest.
Goodbye old friend…

I’m so sorry. I know how much it hurts.
thanks everyone for your kind words. it was not a decision i thought i’d ever have to make. but it was the right one and the sadness will go in time.
cheers…liz
Oh, boo. I’m so sorry. I dread the day I lose my kitty. She looks like she was a very loyal friend.
This is heartbreaking. I have a cat and I love him to death. I can’t imagine life without him.
Please accept my condolences.
Beverly, I really like what you are saying. That is exactly right. There is no need for guilt.
Remember that Maddie depended on you to do what she could not do for herself, including letting her go humanely instead of allowing her to suffer. You thought of her instead of yourself, and you acted as a responsible owner should–no matter how hard it was for you.
So sorry Liz! That IS a very hard thing to do.
Aw Liz, I’m so sorry. We always know it’s for the best, but it’s still so hard to say goodbye to our dear fur-babies. *Sends hugs*
Liz, my condolences on your loss. I’m sure Maddie had a good life and felt loved and appreciated (as indeed she should).
I know how hard it is to say good-bye to a friend. I haven’t had another cat quite like my Georgie since he died several years ago. Praying for your comfort.
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. When I lost my Great Dane Daisy this website helped a lot: http://www.petloss.com/
Oh Liz,
That is really hard!! My condolences. I had a cat myself many years ago now, so I can relate.
Well, if we can help at all, let us know. Reiki really helps with grieving, as many of my clients can attest.
At the same time, you might consider doing any of the healing activities mentioned at the end of this article: http://finepetcare.com/helping-children-deal-with-pet-loss/
My thoughts are with you.
