Spring 2010 Wedding Gown Trends

I’ve been featuring several of the more popular wedding gown designer’s spring collections over at Splendicity Wedding. I’ve noticed a few trends that seem to run through all of the collections, so I thought I’d share them here at Our One Heart.

  • Many of the gowns have gathers, pleats and layers at odd angles on the bodice, skirt or train of the gown.
  • Princess gowns are in for some, while sleek fitted to the body gowns are also very popular on the other end of the spectrum.
  • Many of the gowns feature beautiful embroidery and details.
  • Several of the designers have a retro look with a modern touch to their collection.
  • Necklines are changing. There are still plenty of strapless straight across necklines on gowns, but there are also quite a few v-necks, halters, and asymmetrical one shoulder gowns in the spring collections.
  • I also saw at least one short gown in almost every collection.

I think todays bride likes to have options, and to have the ability to stand out from the crowd, and I think wedding gown designers are taking notice and creating gowns for these new modern brides.
