I wonder how many know that the Circle and Triangle symbol, seen in so many places, is not trademarked by AA.
Anonpress.org is an extensive AA resource and has a list of FAQ’s at their site. Someone asked “Why did AA stop using the circle and triangle symbol?”
Because;
“What happened was that after many years of using the symbol and claiming it as a trademark, AA World Service tried to stop non-AA companies from using it on things like anniversary chips.
In this process they learned that the symbol had been in wide spread use, even in temperance societies, well before AA existed. Because of that AA never had a legitimate claim to ownership of the symbol and stopped using it.
You can read more about this at this link.”
At “this link” we find a fellow named “Barefoot” (hey – what do I know?) who details how it was discovered that AA didn’t have a trademark on the Circle and Triangle.
Barefoot also tells us “The circle and triangle is not ‘banned by A.A.,’ just discontinued since 1993 as a trademark.”

Don’t get caught up in lowering ourselves too much to someone else’s level. That accomplishes nada.
Call you tomorrow…
You’re so very correct Mr. Stringer. It is simple. Consider it done and consider that your importance just isn’t all that and a slice of bread either.

CS = chicken sheeeeeyite! rotflmao “I’m afraid to leave a comment, sniff…”
Well like we said before no one changed AA to suite me ! God this group last nite there was a hole lot of talk from the ol timers saying there “PURE ALCOHLICS” This particular meeting is not known for its great tradition meetings away there very confused , but it was close to home and i drove myself ,
Something scary i went to another “thought” post . whats the need to be so driven to put ones info out there for all the world to see ? I mean I ve known you for along time and I don’t feel the need to know your favorite song or color ?Whats with these people thank GOD they didnt have all these distraction early in my sobriety , I journal and think its healthy to do so and have been for years ,but to put my day to day tasks and mundane on the screen ? I just don’t see that helping one only to sleep , I want to leave comments at these places but I really don’t argue well from a key broad ,brings me back to accept and deal like ya said and I rather see and hear it hear there some where else . For me i’ll just keep comin till They ask me to speak at the “BIG , BIG BIG BOOK MEETING ”
Give me call bro, laying low today still very weak :]
Mike, what I want to avoid, if I can, is getting discouraged that these same alcoholic things happen over and over. I accept that people are going to continue to do this “stuff.” Like Tom Eastwood said, “Accept and Deal.”
I’ll deal… I’ll keep doing what we do – give it back to them RIGHT! If they don’t like it, well, then they can “Accept and Deal!” That’s part of how it worked for us, correct? Those “crusty” oldtimers didn’t cave in to our incessant cr*p did they?
No, thank God!
btw – try going to NA and say “I’m an alcoholic.” See how far that gets ya’ – not! lol…
yea , last nite almost got into the same thing at a tradition 3 meeting ,everyone lately saying its OK to be and addict and i Frankly stated I don’t go to GA or NA and speak of my drinking problem , same Ole song and dance you know the deal .
[...] suggested as a program of recovery:” Somehow this has become rather repugnantly twisted into “Remember a person cannot work your ‘program’ and you can’t work theirs.” So, now we each have our own program? Here’s a news flash! MY program gets me drunk! Run that [...]
My friend, you know I also care yet I’ll be misunderstood anyway – that’s a large part of my truth and you understand…
And – yes, I had noticed.
How’d the interview go?
ah well for me i frankly do give a @$%^ about this kid, our writing styles are the same LMFAO ya notice?

Now c’mon Mike, Bob’s liable to take that personal like, ya’ know? Puppy sheeeyite! lol…
well now that we cleaned up the puppy shit off the floor is there any old business ? Y know this is just what goes on when ya go to work, went to home group to nite , had NT been there sense the “hart attack” and at 8:10 no one was sharing at that time last week I was in the throws of what I thought was a panic attack so to to nite I spoke up , it was nice , fell like a newbie have to get rides these days ah its good to be me . Good Nite All
Wow… glad I was at work being responsible today. That is just so much spewage that it ought not be worth a retort, but, well, lmao… “Old timers like yourself kill suffering people because of how self-righteous you feel.” Wow! Have we become powerful! Now our feelings are killing people! Not just any people, suffering people!
Ya’ see Mike my friend – control freaks never change. Someone busts their little bs bubble and they go on a tirade of character assassination and ugliness that doesn’t just mimic old behavior, it IS old behavior and we all know where that gets us, don’t we?
It is because of cynical oldtimers that the legacy of AA as it was will be passed on and people will continue to be helped and brought back from a hopeless state of mind, not the other way around there Bob. Not even a nice attempt at a twist.
Remember Mike, they told us that there was no better place to “hear” the disease speak than at a meeting? Well, here is one more place where it trys loud and clear. Poisonous. Venomous. Puke.
The attempt is to convince us all that “Recovered” is the new age of AA! And when we revolt from the attempt at control we hurt their feelings and they re-double their efforts at control.
Page 53! Our egomania (yours Bob) digs two disastrous pitfalls. “Either we insist upon dominating the people we know, or we depend upon them far too much.”
You’re trying to dominate and force your will on us with your “cutesy” (so you think) put downs of our humanity. That is so truly lame you really need to go out and try some controlled drinking. Let us know how you make out because you are on the road to “acute and constant suffering.”
BTW – speaking of self-righteous rhetoric, how about this self-righteous rhetoric? “I dont have to drink/drug anymore.” Not only is that self-righteous, but self-engrandizing and truly arrogant! And you do this in the name of helping people? Liar! Anyone who speaks like that has nothing better than a personal agenda at heart which destroys any semblance of humility. Without humility you/we/us are doomed. In the name of being helpful? That can be nothing more than a lie, bold faced!
