I’ve totally been slacking about us hugging trees latey. In fact, we haven’t hugged a single tree for a very long time here at Tree Hugging Family. Sad. That said, I’m thinking I’ll recharge this series, because I like learning about new trees, and I bet you do to.
In case you’re new to Tree Hugging Family, and missed this old series entirely, here’s a recap of some of the trees we’ve hugged in the past…

THREE POP QUIZ QUESTIONS:
- We’ve hugged a lot of trees here, but one tree is the clear winner when it comes to popularity. Which of the trees above do you think has been the most visited tree post? And if you think looking at how many comments these posts got will help you; it won’t. (Peggy, if you’re reading this, no fair to play).
- Which of these trees, do you think, is MY favorite? I do have one.
- Which of the above is your favorite tree to hug? Or do you have another tree you’d like to mention.
Later today, I’ll bring in a new tree.

Hmm, well, I’m going to wait a couple more days to tell you guys the answer; just in case someone chimes in. However, I’ll tell you the tree I’d guess was the most popular (IF I had no clue about stats here) – I would have guessed the Douglas Fir. Mainly because it’s a holiday tree, and that seems popular. It’s not the DF though.
@katherine you lived in Mozambique.. that must have been cool. And really, lilacs are basically shrubs, but I always note them as one of my favorite trees. So, we’ll accept flowering plants
I like bougainvillea plants too; especially as hanging; say over a fence or a big basket (til they get too big).
Ha ha! My first guess for most viewed is also the chocolate tree.
If I had looked over the list of trees and made guesses before I read Kamber’s comment (what was I thinking???), I probably would have come up with Cedar, too.
Although they are incredibly showy, I would say bougainvillea is my favorite for sentimental reasons because they remind me of living in Mozambique. But then I realized that’s a flowering plant, not really a tree, even though they can get that big. So. . . I’ll have to keep searching for my favorite tree.
Ah, I really like Willow trees. I’ll have to do a hug for them soon. I’m not telling if you got the others right yet; in case more people answer
So ha.
1. I’m going to guess chocolate tree
2. Cedar?
3. Willows are my favorite.
