

There was something magical about being on the grounds of the White House, participating in something that has been going on since the 1800’s. And something exhausting about it, too. I suppose I was looking for a more
simple tradition, without the big stages and the bands and the dozens of activities crammed into atwo hour window of opportunity. I am very grateful we had the chance to do this… but if you weren’t one of the lucky 30,000? It’s really ok.
