David and Deidre Patterson are doing all they can to save this endangered bird in western Australia. The natural habit for these birds is being logged for commercial use. They go on to explain in the video the importance of the woods next to their property, Helms block, and their desire to have it made into a national park to help save these unique birds. They also point out a unique tree that grows there as well that the Black Cockatoo uses to nest in. It’s a longer video, about 9 minutes, so make sure you take the time to watch it. You can help by sending a postcard to David Templeman, Australia’s Minister for the Environment. Please express your concern for Helms block and the birds living there.
