Craigslist and Freecycle--Someone Else's Trash Could Be Your Treasure

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…but why heart-shaped arrows–WHY???!

If you are looking for materials when designing your own sorts of junk creations (feel free to share any of them via comments any time!) you may find just the thing on Craiglist.org (if link doesn’t work, paste: www.craigslist.org) or Freecyclefinder.org (of link doesn’t work, paste: http://www.freecyclefinder.org/).

Both sites require you to search according to geographic area–this isn’t really a bad thing, since most of us don’t really want to drive to Alberta (that’s in Canada, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the gigantic North American nation (unless you are in Alberta already…then, well, you probably would be willing).

Craigslist users will want to go to the “free” link under the “for sale” section. Once there, be wary of scammers! Craigslist has a note at the top of most pages that warns people about scams, so read this warning and take heed. On the bright side, Craigslist.org is large and fairly well established–that means you are more likely to find something you want that you won’t need to drive forever and a day (who knows, it could theoretically be possible, right?) to get it.

Freecyclefinder is newer, but still has some good stuff! Check it out and tell me if it compares…

Also, does anyone know of any other sites like this, where we can get good, free “junk?”
