Fatter and Lazier is the Way Folks

downs a pot of coffeeeee… bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

See this is what I mean. We are all aware of the fact we as a nation is getting fatter and lazier. This stems from my earlier post regarding possible child abuse allowing your kid to reach 245 pounds…

Holy shamoly batman… what are we thinking? Obviously we aren’t.

The issue lies ingrained in all of us and not just the simple fact we don’t have to hunt for our food anymore. We can ride in our luxury air conditioned, soft and cushioned car with the radio on as we text message our soon to be next meal to our loved ones. We get out of the car at the grocery store confident we can make it home before our favorite night time soaps and down a full meal in no time flat.

The food is there. You just pick it off the shelf. “hmmm… why not chicken tonight? Nah.. we have already had that 3 times in the last week… how could I? Maybe steak?”

Oh yuck, spinach in a can… how terrible…

Something needs to change. I don’t think it means getting rid of the food but training ourselves to be appreciative of what we have. Just because we have food and TV doesn’t mean we can’t hunt for food or turn off the darn box.

I’ve found the easiest way to accomplish BOTH those needs, is by having my cable turned off. We do what we do, and act the way we act because we have no one to stop it. If you want change in your life and to be a good role modle to the child(ren) you are caring for take charge. If they don’t know what they are missing they wont miss it.
