Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away, so it is time to get serious about Mother’s Day gift ideas. If your mom has a hobby, you pretty much have it made. Just listen to her when she’s talking about her hobby and she’s sure to give you plenty of ideas.

“Oh, I wish I could afford that shimmery Byzantine paint.” “Wow! What I wouldn’t give for a Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick!”
Yes, if your mom has a hobby, you don’t have to work too hard to come up with a nice gift idea. But what about the rest of the moms?
I’m thinking about a “practical” gift basket filled with things my mom likes and uses. For example, instead of exotic tea, I’ll tuck in a box of ordinary British Blend, which is the only kind she really ends up drinking. I’ll also include a gift card for the local video store, a gift card for the bagel shop and new slippers.
Another thing that would work for moms that are tough to shop for is a bouquet of flowers in a unique container. For example, a mom who collected vintage McCoy vases was really excited about a bouquet her daughter gave her that was already arranged in a vase she was missing from her collection.
Still stuck? Head to Etsy and browse through all the gorgeous handcrafted items there. With all of the jewelry, embroidered pieces and artwork to choose from, you have to be able to find something that tells your mom how special she is.
Is your mom easy to shop for or do you have trouble finding her a Mother’s Day gift each year?

Great advice! My mom is usually really easy to shop for. I always get her something that I know she needs and is going to use – you know, practical gifts like new appliances. Though I know she loves everything I get her, I’ve decided to change it up a bit this year and splurge on a really wonderful piece of jewelry. I like the idea that a fine ring or bracelet can represent so much to both the giver and receiver. Unquestionably, my mother would treasure forever such a nice gift, and I like how such a thing can serve as a great reminder of how amazing of a woman she is. I knew exactly where I would go to find her a great gift: the Jewelry Information Center website. I’ve used them before when I was looking for a gift for my sisters wedding. JIC offers tons of great ideas, and we all know jewelry is perfect for any occasion. They have this great feature called Gift Finder which lets you narrow down your choices (they’re all amazing) by category, style and even price. It was incredibly helpful. I was able to find some really great ideas on what to get my mom for Mother’s Day, and I know she’ll really love it. Mother’s Day is almost here, so I def. suggest checking out JIC for some great gift ideas.
