Frugal Memorial Day Fun

If you’re like us, you’d rather not spend money this Memorial Day weekend. As far as I’m concerned, the holiday weekends are the worst times to go away or go to the beach or lake. Prices are over inflated and who wants to pay a fortune to stand in long lines anyway? You can still have a great fun-filled family weekend without spending a lot of money. Here are a few suggestions: Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

  • Host a potluck barbecue
  • Check out a concert in the park
  • Have a picnic
  • Go for a hike
  • Have a water balloon or hose fight to keep cool
  • Pick some movies out from the library
  • Go for a bike ride
  • Go fishing
  • Go for a walk
  • Have a scavenger hunt
  • Start a rock collection
  • Bird watch
  • Make and fly a kite
  • Camp in the back yard
  • Sit on the deck and do some jigsaw puzzles
  • Play some board games on your patio table
  • Read aloud
