For those of you who read my post a couple months back about Ferdinand, you’ll remember he was an indoor ficcus in bad shape. Sadly, Ferdinand did not survive the repotting. He was officially pronounced dead last week when one of my cats got to him and broke some of the limbs. I was hoping that loosing all the leaves was simply due to stress and he would sprout new ones soon. But the limbs were dry and brittle, not to mention his bark was shriveling up. I would just have to accept that he was indeed dead. So I buried him in the trash can outside and went about deciding what to put in his now empty, but very large, pot. I finally decided an aloe plant would be unique. They can grow very large, and they are good to have around for medicinal purposes. So a little aloe plant found its way into Ferdinand’s old house and is getting comfortable next to my desk. I normally name all my house plants, but have yet to come up with a good one. Any suggestions?

Spike. Cuz, well, they have those little spikey things.
Not very original, I know. Plus, by now you’ve probably already named him. Can you tell I’m finally getting around to catching up on my reading!?!
