It’s Adult Time at casa SoloMother. This week has been hellish, to wit: countdown to elections is making my office nuts, I’m sick, the kid gets a cast, I hurt my back this morning after a night full of nightmares about work, I have too much to do and not enough software to do it, my dining room table is broken, the ex is on holiday but hasn’t caught up with his child support payment (explain to me again how that works?)…
But I’m going to the fountain and I’m listening to jazz, tonight. Tango jazz. It’s free, and this single mother can use all the joy she can get right now. Tango music, for some reason, is bright and knife edged, with the kind of desperate joy that I can relate to right now.
Keep an eye out for fun, free things to do near where you live. If I hadn’t hurt my back, I’d bike to the fountain tonight.
