It’s hard to fathom, but videos from her appearance on the Australian TV show, Sunday Night HD, indicate that Beyonce might be wearing a fake baby bump, spurring rumors that she’s faking her own pregnancy while she waits for a surrogate to bring her baby to term. Why would she do it? Some surmise that she’s avoiding the inevitable weight gain that comes with pregnancy, but we think a more reasonable explanation lies in medical reasons: There are several health risks that come with a real baby bump (and some that preclude pregnancy altogether), and while science allows for surrogacy, it’s possible that Beyonce and Jay-Z don’t think pop culture is quite ready.
The video (below) shows Beyonce sitting down to be interviewed and, in the process, her stomach appears to fold in, and her dress collapses, then fills back in once she sits down. Rumors have it that she’s wearing a foam prosthetic that can collapse (although why Beyonce wouldn’t invest in a better front for her pregnancy eludes us nearly as much as the idea of publicly faking a pregnancy).
Why she would fake her own pregnancy is mysterious, but many have speculated that, since Beyonce’s been lying about her age for years (she says she’s 30, but many think she’s seven years older), she could have age-related complications associated with carrying her own pregnancy to term.
Pregnancy after the age of 35 is widely accepted as more risky and difficult, for the following main reasons:
- It could take longer to get pregnant, and infertility is a greater possibility. Infertility can be due to several reasons, but the most common are tubal blockage or tubal occlusion, early menopause, endometriosis, thyroid issues, medications and hormonal imbalances. While some of these can be resolved through medical care, or artificial insemination, there are some preexisting conditions that can put the mother or baby’s health at risk, which typically leads many couples to consider adoption or surrogacy.
- Multiple pregnancy is more likely. This is mostly associated with infertility treatments that enhance ovulation.
- There’s higher risk for gestational diabetes. Tight control of blood sugar during pregnancy can help control risk, but this is much more common during pregnancy in older mothers.
- You’re more likely to develop high blood pressure during pregnancy.
- C-section is more likely. Older moms (especially first-time mothers over the age of 35) have a higher risk of pregnancy- or labor-complications that can necessitate c-section.
-Risk of chromosome abnormalities is higher. Babies born to older mothers have a higher risk of chromosome complications, such as Down syndrome.
-Risk of miscarriage is higher. This could be due to several reasons, but with age comes a higher risk of miscarriage.
Of course, all of this is speculative, but if Beyonce really is 37 (and if she’s really faking her pregnancy), all of these are good reasons to opt for a surrogate or adopt. And while growing numbers of women make the same decision, it’s far less culturally acceptable (and we’re guessing that the announcement of her surrogacy wouldn’t have caused quite the fanfare that her pregnancy announcement at the VMAs—which set a new record in tweets-per-second on twitter—did).

Oops! I forgot to mention the abundance of fake hair and unnatural hair color she constantly wears. Okay, as for the bikini photos, they look fake too! Looks like she’s deliberately pushing her stomach forward to make it protrude. Anybody can do that, at any given time, so don’t believe everything you see in a photo these days. The bump she sported back in August, when wearing the orange caftan, was pretty huge; much bigger than what she reveals now. I just don’t know why she would want to look more pregnant than she really is, if she really is indeed pregnant (why the baby-bump prosthesis?).
http://vfare36.wordpress.com/2011/09/08/beyonce-arrived-to-hvar-island-croatiarevealing-baby-bump-in-a-white-ruffle-bikini/ So… bikini clad pix were taken a month ago. Discuss!
Her breasts, lips, behind, and nose are fake, so why not her so-called pregnancy?
I am SHOCKED she would do something like that. Wao…To me it is OBVIOSLY FAKE. I have a son and your belly doesn’t fold at ALL!! I feel embarrased for her cause i was able to tell she freaked out by the look in her face when she sat down. Oh Gosh.
OR SO MANY ABORTIONS B CANT KEEP THE BABY UP IN THE POUCH
THE PROSTITUTE B IS A LIER REMEMBER.
I am very shocked at what appears to be a complete belly collapse that sprang right back into place! dubya-tee-eff??!! ‘nothin’ but net, man, nothin’ but net. I cannot speak from experience, so somebody tell me if that is supposed to happed when a pregnant woman takes a seat.
fools, can’t you see it’s the dress that flops forward and when she sat it went back onto her belly. i’ve worn a dress similar to it and looked at how it fell forward when i got into a similar position to sit. that foolish tv show host is looking for high ratings…making money from scandalling people. ho
