Married for 40 Years and It’s Like We’ve Never Met

How long have you been dating your current partner? If it’s been a while, you’re probably positive that you know them better now than when you’d only been dating for a year or two. Turns out, you don’t. A new study shows that accuracy in predicting each other’s preferences with regard to food, movies, and kitchen design declines over time.

So do we need to completely ignore someone in order to be able to live with them for 20+ years? Or do we assume that we already know everything about our partner, so what’s the point of trying to learn any more? Take a look at your own relationship. How well do you know his or her favorite things?
