Tonight I’m feeling miserable. There’s no doubt it’s the dreadful cold the rest of the family has. All that means is tonight I can hardly think straight. So, I’ve found something for you to read.
Kimble James Greenwood has a lengthy essay meditating on 25 years of journal writing. I have yet to read the entire essay, but found the first few paragraphs interesting enough to mention to my readers.
Which brings me to a question; how long have you been keeping a journal? Please use the comments section below to respond.

Hi Rift,
So you’ve been writing a journal for quite a long time. I could’t write much in my first journals, either, as a kid. I think I was too busy just enjoying life to sit and think about it. How I’ve grown up.
I’m feeling a lot better today.
Hi Brenda,
Thanks for sharing with us. I can only encourage you to pick up a pen and begin today. Browse through the entries in this blog for more inspiration.
bleh, sorry you’re feeling yucky. Rest up!
The article does look interesting, as does the book it came from (Darkness and Light). Thanks for the link.
I started journalling on a regular basis when I got out of college, in 1997. Morning pages, ya know. Before that, my journalling was haphazard: many books started, a few pages written and abandoned.
I remember my first journalling was in a five year diary with a lock, I can’t remember what the picture on the front was. They give you five lines per day… but I think I only filled out about ten days! ha. Let’s see, I was maybe 12 when I got that book.
when i was a young girl i would keep diarys. i dont any more but i guess it would help me in trying to figure things out…
