New Year's Resolution- Working Out

One of the biggest and most popular goals that moms pick (whether new moms or those that already have kids) is working out. They may want to work out more, work out period or learn how to work out. Here are some excuses they come up with to not do it:

-  never have enough time

-  I have no one to watch the kids

-  it costs too much

-  Doctors told me not to do it

In order to make those New Year’s Resolutions to come true there are a few ideas that come to mind. If you have any please speak up, leave a comment.

- on the kids: You can always do an exchange with some neighbors, one day you watch the kids while another neighbor goes out for an hour and the next you do it, etc. Or you could join a gym that has activities for the little guys to keep them busy while you are working out. Have a family or a friend take them out or hang with them for an hour.

-  time:  If time is a big issue you can always buy those video tapes (DVDs) on working out. I hear Pilates is a good one and it doesn’t take that long to get into them, about 30 minutes a session. This can be done as soon as you get home, right before the shower (so you can clean off) and before bed.

-  cost:  While it does cost to join a gym there are many perks too, for instance some will provide entertainment for the little ones. But if money is an issue you can rent/buy work out DVDs, run, jog, etc. Get a routine going every day or every couple of days until it just comes natural to do everything.

-  your health:  Always follow the doctors orders, but you might want to ask him/her if there is anything you can do in the meantime to help you stay in shape or get back in. Chances are there is something he/she can recommend.

Don’t stress over missing a day, that’s the best way to keep those resolutions.

it’s funny but I just got into some form of exercise today again after 3 years and two babies. this mom is tired of her jelly belly and the lower back aches from having low E all the time.
