One easy thing you can do today for your health and the environment. (Or, idle slobs, take action!)
Selective flushing, or the “if it’s yellow, let it mellow” policy, is probably one of the easiest things you can do to conserve water. Most toilets use at least 1.6 gallons of water per flush, so even if you skip just two flushes a day, this adds up to 1,168 gallons of water saved per year. If the thought of leaving pee in your toilet rubs your inner Emily Post the wrong way, just try forgoing the flush at night – we promise no one will notice.
