Stop using Paper Towels
Clean up your mess without clearing out a forest: Stock up on kitchen towels and cloth napkins instead of paper towels, and use old newspapers to wipe your windows (they won’t leave streaks). The vast majority of paper towels in American supermarkets are made of virgin paper rather than recycled paper, so thousands of trees are still getting cut down each year to made our disposable cleaner-uppers. Using cloth napkins, kitchen towels, and newspapers instead cuts back on paper use, and it also saves money in the long-run. If you absolutely must buy paper towels, try to find post-consumer recycled paper towels.
