Planning Your Container Gardens?

I love having a couple well planned out container gardens every summer. I do most of my gardening right in the ground, but I love to plan out a few containers for my front and back porch steps. I usually go with a certain color scheme, or combination of colors. I love to change it up every year and do something a little different.

I usually throw a few herbs in with the flowers, because many help repel bugs and pests, but I can also step right outside the door to clip some fresh herbs.

I love using unusual containers, not just the normal flower pots or planters to plant my container garden. You can even add a little interest to a perennial garden or kitchen garden if you use an old shoe, or an old bathtub for a container garden.
