Plant a Kitchen Herb Garden~Indoors

Just because fall is right around the corner, followed by colder temperatures here in the northern hemisphere, it doesn’t mean you have to give up your kitchen herb garden until spring.

Many herbs can be grown in small pots or containers indoors through the winter, in a sunny windowsill, or under grow lights. You can pot them up into individual pots, or plant several herb varieties together in one larger container or flower pot.

Give your herbs as much water as possible, and avoid fertilizing them during the darkest winter months. You may not be able to harvest as many fresh herbs as you can from your real kitchen herb garden, but it can still give you enough herbs to flavor some of your winter dishes.
