Which is easier to potty train, a little boy or a little girl? Why? ParentDish has asked this very question this week at their site and I’d love to ask it here. Now in my opinion I think my son (first one) was easier to potty train, the only problem I had with him is we had to move right after he was potty trained (before 18 months) and stuck diapers back on him for the long trip just in case. Course this ended up being disastrous for us because it made him go back into diapers.
The girls were potty-trained by the age of three, both of which I was pregnant during the potty-training time. Honestly, I can’t really remember potty-training any of them. I simply kept the diapers off and the potty chairs in the room. I think this is the first child that I leave the diaper on him at all times. He’s the one that pulls it off and runs to the toilet, course he’s also the youngest potty-trainer.
So, which of your children were easier to train? Why do you think this? Many people think their own sex is easier to train as you already know how you do it. Some believe a girl is because you aren’t worried about pee going all over and spraying the walls. Others believe it is easier to teach a boy as all you have to do is toss cereal in the bowl and say aim. Course don’t be surprised when they don’t want to eat that particular cereal later on or try peeing in it.

I’ve always heard that girls are easier to train. My daughter ‘appeared’ easy to train because she had a very consistent potty schedule as a baby. The potty training went well for a while but fell apart along the way (long story). Her baby brother has a very inconsistent potty schedule (is that a boy thing), so I guess he may be harder to train. I’m looking forward to trying the cheerio target thing though.
