Review: World’s Best Cat Litter

It’s not often I agree to review a cat litter. Why disrupt an already happy match? I’ve been using Feline Pine for around six years now. And the cats seem fine with it.

However, it’s difficult to not be curious about a cat litter with such a bold name. Is it really the world’s best cat litter?

I can’t answer such a subjective question, but I can say that World’s Best Cat Litter is right up there with Feline Pine, and it’s worlds above dusty clay litters.

For review, I received a complimentary bag of World’s Best Cat Litter, Multiple Cat Clumping Formula. It’s designed with a natural plant material that offers better odor control in homes with multiple cats.

My favorite things about this litter:

It’s totally natural. The litter is made from whole-kernel corn, after all. If your cat ended up ingesting some, no big deal. There’s no other natural corn litter like this on the market.

Zero dust. If there’s dust in this litter it’s too fine for me to see.

It’s earth friendly with no synthetic chemicals, dyes, or perfumes. Plus, it’s biodegradable.

And it clumps very well! With this litter, you can easily remove the urine the same way you can scoop the fecal matter. Plus, it goes down the toilet fine and is safe for septic systems. However, those living in California should be aware that flushing cat feces may harm sea otters.

The litter is also very soft, something I can’t say for Feline Pine pellets. While I need to use a special litter box with Feline Pine to prevent tracking of the sawdust everywhere, I haven’t noticed a tracking issue with this litter. A few pieces appear around the litter box, but I don’t see particles elsewhere in my home. Also, the cats don’t make as much noise scratching around this litter as they do with the harder Feline Pine. Soft equals quiet, I suppose.

Odor control is good. I haven’t noticed a smell of urine, and this litter covers stool well to help control odor. However, I don’t expect any litter to keep cat poop from smelling. Solid wastes should be scooped often for the best odor control.

Closing thoughts:

If you’re looking for a natural clumping litter, you’ll likely find what you’re seeking in World’s Best, assuming your cat takes to it well. Both of my cats used this litter without hesitation, and it’s easy to find in stores. World’s Best costs more than Feline Pine, but it’s easier to maintain (no messy sawdust to deal with). I didn’t test whether a bag of World’s Best lasts longer than Feline Pine, but World’s Best says that one 7 lb bag of litter can last one cat for a month.

If you’ve tried World’s Best Cat Litter, please share your thoughts!

We have been using WBCL for about 10 years and agree that it is a bit dusty. We find that the multi cat formula seems a bit courser and stands up a bit better. As far as cleanliness and odor control I can’t think of one better.
I just can’t believe that no one seems to scoop every day! Like a previous post said not scooping is like not flushing. If we didn’t scoop everyday our little ladies would be going outside the box too. It clumps so nicely and scoops easily so the box is alway clean. We only dump the box when the corn becomes broken down to dust. WBCL is the best!

I have been using WBCT for over 6 years now. My only complaint is their claim about “no dust”. When I pour the litter, you can see dust and after a while, there is fine white dust on anything remotely close to the litter box. I would love to hear from others about this.

Not sure why this product is considered eco-friendly. Agriculture is one of the leading contributors to greenhouse gas emissions.

We decided to try WBCL after receiving a coupon from our pet store.Nermal, our rescue indoor cat that we’ve had since she was a kitten a year ago, used it once and has since refused to go NEAR her litter box!She is and has always been picky and odd,so we thought it was one of her “phases” she’s always going through. We found out later from the vet that she has an allergy to corn and that’s why she steered clear of it and also we had noticed that she had been scratching and not eating. Thus the trip to the vet.My suggestion is that if you are going to try a new litter or food,to have a stand-by just in case.Had I nt had another litter box I might still be cleaning up.

I’ve been using World’s Best for almost 4 years. We tried all different types before WB. I LOVE this litter. While it does get tracked around the house a bit by my long hair cat, I have no other complaints. I scoop once a day every single day and have had no problems with urine sticking to the bottom of the pan. I find it much easier to clean the litter box with this litter. Odor is minimal. Granted, it can’t cover up everything and that is why I scoop every day. My neighbor uses Swheat Scoop and I dread it when I need to cat sit for him. It sticks to the bottom of the pan, urine doesn’t clump and it smells so bad! Cleaning that litter box just reinforces in my mind what a great litter WB is.

with 7 cats, this is the best litter for our house!

several years ago some mice chewed through a wall, right to the litter box. they enjoyed the corn based litter, but the cats soon took care of them.

I bought this litter when I got 2 new kittens; since it’s made from corn, it’s safe for kittens if they ingest it. I would not switch back to clay, or any other litter, for love or money! My cats like the litter, I like the litter because there is fairly good odor control and it clumps really well. I scoop every other day, have 3 cats and 2 litter pans and I have not noticed a problem with urine caking on the bottom of the pan. I did have that problem with a clay clumping litter, but only when I used baking soda or other powdered freshener in the litter. I don’t need to use a freshener like that with this litter, so I don’t have the problem. This litter really lives up to it’s name!

I haven’t tried this since the package redesign from the yellow bags, but while it worked well at first, there was a huge issue. The urine started to cake at the bottom of the litter pan so it formed a hard, tacky substance that’d require scraping and it smelled horrible.

The next step was to try a mixture of clumping litter and the corn-based litter, but that didn’t get rid of the problem entirely. The mixture we use now is 3/4 sawdust Feline pine with some non-scented Fresh Step litter. A piece of old carpet under our cat’s litter box seems to take care of most of her debris.

Before I started experimenting, the whole goal was to avoid the clay litter but ultimately compromise with our current mix.

Hopefully your new litter works better for you!
