Scenes From The Garden

Here’s some of what’s blooming in my garden this week.

The irises are still going strong.

And now I have some mini purple irises blooming.

I had the first red strawberry from my garden this afternoon… shortly after this photo was taken. Now I’m dreaming of strawberry-rhubarb pie.

My tiny miniature roses are blooming. I love clipping the blooms and buds off to dry, and press for projects later in the year. They’re also cute in tiny little vases on the windowsill. They’re one of my favorite things in the garden because they bloom all summer long, even after most of the garden has died back for the winter. I’ll still find mini rose blooms.

I finally have most of the garden planted, I want to put in a couple more rows of corn, and green beans. The tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant are all doing nicely in their new home. I raised some from seed, but I also bought several heirloom varieties from a small local nursery. I look forward to telling you about them in the next few weeks.

Robert's Cuban Seasoning Hot Pepper

This is a Robert’s Cuban Seasoning Pepper, it’s supposed to add some heat, and zing to your recipes. I can’t wait to give these peppers a try.

I love the white Iris. My irises are blooming now and I taking pictures so I can post them all at once. I like looking at what others have in their gardens and getting ideas for next year.
