Thank you for posting this! I have used homemade laundry detergent, cleaners, cloth diapers, etc for years but never thought to look for something more natural for myself.

It's great that they are doing this and donating the money, but it would be even better to help get women off disposable products altogether. I use the DIVA cup and it's fantastic. Plus I don't risk getting TSS and I can leave it in for half a day at a time. I highly recommend women look into alternatives to mainstream disposable (money making for the companies) products. There are some great ones out there!

Great info Jennifer! And timely for me. I just had my first period on reusable menstrual pads and LOVED them!! (I got them from http://www.fussybutt.com/category.php?category_id=27). They are surprisingly comfortable and absorbent, and I do mean REALLY absorbent. I went 5 hours on one of them on my second day (accidently, got caught in a meeting) and was worried what I would find when I finally got to the ladies room. But it was totally fine, absolutely no sign of leakage and I could have probably worn it longer. And cleaning was a snap -- I just soaked them for a day or two in cold water and all the waste came out. I then threw them in the wash with my regular load and they came out just fine. For those who like tampons, sounds like the organic ones from Seventh Generation are a good alternative too. I'd definitely recommend trying some sort of more natural form of sanitary product during your period. It makes your body feel more comfortable and gives you peace of mind about what you're using on yourself.
