Snausages Sled Race Lets the Dogs Mush

Snausages dog treats held their first Snausages Man Sled Race recently in snowy Anchorage, Alaska.

Four teams of people pulled sleds with dogs as the mushers. The teams raced across a frozen pond for the pet charity of their choice. These people really love dogs! They look like they’re all having fun, especially the lucky dog.

On Your Mark. Get Set. Bark! Danny Seavey, left, his brother Dallas, center left, Mari Troshynski, center, and Eric Ayers, right, pull their dog Chinook, in the sled, across a frozen lake during the Snausages Man Sled Race in Anchorage, Alaska on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

The red team won the race, and $5,000 went to their chosen pet charity, the Second Chance League, a group of Fairbanks mushers finding permanent homes for sled dogs.

Three other charities also received $1,000: Friends of Pets, Alaska Dog & Puppy Rescue and Alaska SPCA.
