The single mom diet

I’m always looking for the bright side of things, even when I’m stumbling around in the dark, banging into things and getting bruised. The economy going down the toilet is going to do great things for my waist line, I’m sure. Even bulimics are going to want to get in on this diet. I figure, with the rising cost of food and fuel, I’m going to have to stop eating and start walking.

Isn’t that a great plan? I’m going to weigh 100 pounds in no time. And think of all the money I’ll save!

OK, OK, all parody and silliness aside, this single mother’s got to ask: what are you all doing to tighten your belts?

I started parking ‘farther away’. I started taking the stairs any and everytime possible.
I try to expend more energy doing things that we sometimes take for granted.
    Best of luck to you!

I have a bus pass that I use to get downtown for work. On the weekend, I usually drive my car when we go places. Lately, I’ve been realizing that when you add the parking fees to the gas, some trips are *really* expensive. We’ll be taking the bus in the future since neither of us will have to pay (my daughter is young enough to ride free). And then there are places that we just won’t go as often because they require a long drive.

    The good things I’m doing:
*Carpooling to work with my roommate, even though he leaves 30 minutes before I do.
*Spending a ton of time with my kids because I don’t go out, even for coffee
    *Blogging, ALOT.

    The bad things:
    *Blogging, ALOT :)
*Not taking a little time for me to be human
    *Smoking… again.

It’ll get better.. it has to!
At least, I can feed my kids and get to work, it could be alot worse!

I wanted to say Thank you for letting me know I’m not the only one out there. Sometimes you think no one understands what you are going through!

    Lots O’ Love!
