Things I learned on my summer vacation

  1. Three kids, two adults, one car and over five hundred miles in one day is a very, very long drive
  2. It’s absolutely possible to have fun for a week of rain in a rented house with three, sometimes five kids and three toddlers
  3. My son is a very good boy and deserves praise, not punishment (see numbers 1 and 10)
  4. I am kinder than I gave myself credit for
  5. My son can go out into the ocean without me hovering right by his side every second of the adventure… he’s just fine
  6. The decisions I make must always be for our good, and no one else’s
  7. I love blueberry pie
  8. Maine is one of my favorite places on this Earth
  9. Wear sunscreen
  10. Three sunburned kids, two sunburned adults, one faithful car and over 500 miles in one day is a very long day indeed

  1. Special K

I love the fact that through loving and giving to others, we discover how “we are kinder” than we recognize. I am glad you recognized it!
