I’ve always used strands of paper cutouts, popcorn, cranberries, or some such, so why not beads? They’ve got such a nice sparkle :-)

I have been decorating my tree the past couple years with Mardi Gras beads. I saw a tree decorated that way several years ago in New Orleans and, then two years ago, I went to Mardi Gras for respite and brought home a TON of beads from the parades to Milwaukee. My partner, Tommy, LOVED last year’s tree – we no garland nor tinsel, just the homemade ornaments from my children kept over the years and my granddaughter’s creations and a couple he made from papier mache’ and lots of Mardi Gras beads in purple/green/gold!!! And this year we added some candy canes to the mix. With the twinkle lights behind the beads and stuff, it’s just beautiful! I LOVE beads!!!
