Question of the month: your worktable?

Question of the month: What’s on your worktable?

I always clean off my table at the end of the year…more often if it’s really necessary :-)  After I did the deed the other day, I realized that I should have taken a picture of THE BIG MESS first.  Everything is relatively tame now, so I’ve got to put out the call to all of you:  I double dog dare you to be brave enough to send me a shot of your worktable…without cleaning it off first!

Two years ago, Stephie Hall of Princess Jewellry sent me this picture.  I was in awe!  Even though there’s a lot of stuff on the table, it all seems pretty well organized.  Way to go, Stephie!

So come on, be brave.  Send us a picture.  Tell us a little about how you work, or let the picture speak for itself!  Send all entries to cyndi @ b5media.com (remove the spaces) and use the subject line “Jewelry & Beading Worktable”. I’ll post them as they come in, with links you,  your site or blog.

I also cleaned off my table near the end of the year. My worktable is the lower tier of a nesting desk. The 4 x 2.5 foot table fits under the main desk with just enough vertical space to hold my latest projects and anything that will lay flat. The gemstones take up part of the computer desk.

The craft stuff was cleared in preparation for final inventory count for taxes. All I have on the desk now is a Christmas commission, which won’t be delivered until mid-January (by design, not lack of work from me). It is a suncatcher using copper jumprings, rings and chain, AB two-hole rivolis and copper-wrapped malachite hearts. I still need to find what I’m going to hang the three strands on.

Until inventory is done, nothing new will be started.
