Actually, my journal/sketchbook is quite disappointing in terms of drawings or other visuals. My background is in writing, so I’m mainly (sadly) a verbal thinker and not much of a visual thinker. I wish I were!
But I did find a couple of sketches from the past year or two of jewelry designs that I ended up executing in ways very similar to the drawings (which hardly ever happens), so I thought they would be interesting examples to share. The earrings were inspired by the looping technique in Mary Hettmansperger’s book, Fabulous Woven Jewelry, and the “brick stitch pendant” sketch turned out to be the Phoenix Pendant, which I now teach.
