Jersey Shore‘s Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi showed off photos of herself in a swimsuit on Twitter this week, causing new commentary on her “super slim” figure. But the latest evidence of Snooki’s weight loss just makes her seem more like a poster child for how not to lose weight. Between the badly-done photoshop (is anyone else wondering where the bottom of her “monokini” went?), the risky Zantrex-3 diet pills she’s been using to lose weight, and her clear problems with body image in the past, we just wish we could give her a hug and a good body image counselor.
[UPDATE: Now Snooki wants breast implants as a weight loss reward.]
The star went on Zantrex-3 back in September, as part of a promotion for the diet drug’s manufacturer (in fact, when tabloids started rumors that she’d used HCG to lose weight, she tweeted: ‘Glad to hear reports that say I look good =) but it’s not because of HCG! Thanks @Zantrex!‘) On the Wendy Williams show last month, she said it helped her get her weight down to 103 pounds, just five above her goal weight of 98 (which at 4’9″ puts her squarely in the “normal” weight range according to BMI charts). But doctors have been outspoken over their concern that the diet pill, which contains 12 times more caffeine than espresso and is classified as a “supplement” so that it doesn’t have to get approval from the FDA. Many say the high levels of caffeine can cause increased heart rate, palpitations, anxiety, cold sweats, nausea, diarrhea, and irritability.

To top off her dangerous weight loss methods, the reality star has had long-term struggles with her weight, in part because of the criticism she’s gotten for her weight. In a recent interview with In Touch, she pressed that she isn’t losing weight for the wrong reasons:
I didn’t lose weight for them. I did it for me…When I work out and eat right, I feel healthier and happier.
But the constant ups and downs with her weight, combined with confessions of past eating disorders and her risky approach to weight loss don’t exactly paint a picture of a young woman who’s taken control of her health. We hope that Snooki goes off the Zantrex, and finds a good nutritionist to get her eating (and drinking) straight.

Has she murdered any children? I’m concerned for her if she’s not had several unwanted pregnancy infections handled t the doctor.
What is an “unwanted pregnancy infection”?
Are you kidding? You’re slamming a supplement for not being FDA approved? Are you working for Pfizer now? This supplement doesn’t sound like a great idea but it sounds a heck of a lot better than most of the FDA approved drugs that Big Pharma has been doling out.
Who cares what this Snooki person does? Do a real story on the dangerous influence Big Pharma has over the FDA.
Uh, okay. So do you guys not understand that MOST OF THE STARS use a LOT worse things than a caffeinated diet pill for shit’s sake? Try Adderall, cocaine, etc.. you name it. Stop being naive. Seriously.
This site is really not as positive as it claims to be. Smh…Who cares how Snooki loss weight she looks great!
Thank you, people are way too judgemental these days! Smh…
Why does everyone judge so much if you dont like it dont look, if you dont want your kids to see it dont let them, simple
Zantrex-3 may make snooki skinny but did nothing for her ugly mug or her herpes.
In your final paragraph, the word should be “who’s” as in “who is,” not “whose.”. Other than that, though, this is a well expressed, valid take on the Snooki phenomenon.
Eek, how embarrassing. Thanks for the correction, Cynthia – changed that just now.
Really ?
Didn’t know this was an English language site, I thought it was a health site…
Is she making a claw? Or has a drink also been photoshopped out of her hand or something?
Uhm, your a bit off on your assesment- the pic in your review is not photoshopped. You cannot see the bottom of the suit because of the angle.
I agree with you on the diet pills though… they are dangerous.
Hmmm, I’m going to have to agree to disagree with you on that… it gets blurry and flesh-colored ABOVE her leg! Either way, I think we agree on the main point of the post, though: She’s using dangerous diet pills to lose mass amounts of weight, which is NOT what anyone should aspire to.
Take it from someone who owns a couple monokinis: when I take pictures in them, my crotch does not become a blurred out patch of skin. I’m guessing her excess skin was rolling near the bottom of her “pooch” and she was too embarrassed to post the raw photo. However, since all of her photos from minute of fame #1 are hideously shameful, I think it does appear somewhat less valid because why would she suddenly care about photoshopping something now?
