BOOTYCamp! Day 5 With Lacey Stone: Pulled Muscles, Bruised Egos, and Team Spirit

Read my previous BOOTYCamp! post here.

Did I take a taxi to BOOTYCamp! the other day at 6 a.m.? Why, yes I did. (I’m not a total idiot.) Did I then pull my inner thigh muscle during group warm-ups like a total idiot? Why, yes I did.

Of course, because this is BOOTYCamp! and not PANSYCamp!, I powered through the obstacle course training drills, Indian sprints, and suicides/champions, thanks to our co-trainer Annie’s encouragement, and that damn team spirit that reminds me of mandatory Powder Puff homecoming games during high school (Powder Puff? Don’t ask) – a spirit that, despite myself, I kind of like.

Pulled muscles aside, what’s my Day 5 progress report? I actually feel fitter and stronger, and I’m climbing the stairs at work (nine killer flights). During one of our Day 5 sprints, someone yelled: “Nice wheels, Christine!” I took that as a compliment.

Now I’m going to shut up and show you some video of the aforementioned BOOTYCamp! drills and sprints, plus a team-building cheer thing that we do at the end of every early-morning session.

Enjoy. I’ll be icing my inner thigh.

One of our obstacle course drills: (It’s hard for men to skip!)
