Vagina Fitness: Would You Hire a Personal Trainer to Get Toned Downstairs?

We thought doing Kegels and using vaginal weights were plenty of work for our vaginas, but according to an article in the latest issue of Glamour, your lady parts can get their very own personal trainer. We rolled our eyes at first, too, but it turns out that “pelvic fitness” training can help you have better, less painful sex and regulate your urinary tract better (read: not pee all the time).

Don’t have a budget for vaginal fitness? Try this exercise, as described by Lauri Romanzi, M.D. for Glamour:

  1. Lay down with your hips propped on a pillow, pull your knees up, and use a mirror to monitor “down there”.
  2. Try closing your vaginal opening by pulling in and up with your pelvic floor muscles, not your thighs.
  3. Watch for correct technique by making sure your perineum, the skin between your anus and vagina, looks like it’s retracting.

Once you get it all working down there, try holding the contraction for five seconds, then releasing, and repeating it ten times in a row, three times a day.

There’s a very informative video available online about that. There’s only one place I’ve found to watch it free, at: http://www.cool-neatstuff.com They make you do a quick survey but after that it’s no charge :)
